 GENERAL CHEER INFORMATION

The LCP Pop Warner traditional season begins August 1 through November.

The LCP Cheer program offers several choices in Fundamental Cheerleading for all types of ages, no previous experience is necessary.  No required tryouts.

  • Flag Cheer is for children Ages 5-7, practices are very minimal during the week and they cheer for a flag football team.

Below are the Divisions that take on a little more excitement on game days, they all cheer for tackle football. Practices are generally 3-5 days per week.  After school begins, practices are 3 days per week.

  • Tiny Mite:      Ages 5-7
  • Mitey Mite:   Ages 7-9

The next age groups have two options:  Competition or Non-Competition.  Practices are generally 5 days a week in August and narrowed down to 3 days per week after school begins or by Labor Day.

  • Jr. Pee Wee: Ages 8-10
  • Pee Wee:      Ages 9-12
  • Jr. Midget:    Ages 10-13

PRACTICES

ALL Divisions begin Practices August 1 and generally end in late October.  They will learn Cheers & Chants and have the opportunity to showcase their skills at the local Central Texas Pop Warner League's Cheer & Dance Championships.

Competition teams have the opportunity to showcase a routine and earn the opportunity to qualify and advance to Regional and National Levels.  LCP has sent many cheer teams to the National level in Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

Cost for Cheer Uniforms is $145 to $375 depending on the Division of choice, plus the cost of registration fees.  Uniforms payment options are available but require a deposit.

Testimonials:

As part of the Mission of Pop Warner and the Coaches Code of Conduct, LCP makes every effort to select the best in all our volunteers.  Below our testimonials from very special and dedicated CHEER COACHES who answered from the heart....WHY THEY LIKE TO COACH CHEERLEADING?

"I love coaching cheerleading because I'm dedicated to nurturing and building the lives of our youth and have always had a passion to work with kids! I sincerely believe that cheerleading participation boost ones motivation and enhances self esteem and confidence and at the end of any given day, 'It's all about our kids!'"  Nicky Carter, Head Coach, 2008 Tiny Mite Pumas

"Cheerleading is a fun sport for girls.  I love coaching the fundamentals of cheerleading and being a good role model .  I love seeing the girls smiles and showing there spirit.   The best reward of coaching  is to see the girls be so PROUD of there accomplishments at the end of season."  Gina Bretzke, Head Coach, 2008 Tiny Mite Wildcats
